Geoffrey A. A. Lee is a vibrant voice in literature, a native of Bridgetown, Barbados, now residing in Louisville, Kentucky. With a penchant for reading, writing, and storytelling, Geoffrey’s diverse career encompasses leadership roles in education, music production, and literacy advocacy that weave together creative and intellectual pursuits into a rich narrative tapestry.

From an early age, Geoffrey’s dedication to the arts was ignited when he clinched a national prize in an essay competition hosted by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) at just eight years old. This initial spark blossomed into a radiant light as he entered the spotlight as a founding member and musician of the illustrious group, The Escorts International. His songwriting prowess played a pivotal role in the band’s ascent to greatness, ultimately earning the group the coveted title of “Band of the Year.” His influence further expanded through his role as a judge on the beloved Caribbean television show, Opportunity Knocks, where he shared his passion for performance and storytelling.

An accomplished educator, Geoffrey has carved a distinguished path in the field of education, having previously served as an Education Officer (ag) in Barbados, as well as a consultant and literacy instructor at the University of Belize. His commitment to empowering both middle school students and master’s candidates at the University of Louisville is evident in his innovative teaching philosophy, which emphasizes themes of resilience, oppression, liberation, and transformation. Through collaborative exploration with his students, Geoffrey has cultivated a diverse body of work encompassing fiction, nonfiction, and scholarly contributions, all rooted in his profound belief that storytelling serves as a powerful medium for bridging societal divides.

Drawing upon his own rich cultural heritage, along with his academic experiences in Israel, London, and America, Geoffrey’s writing serves to celebrate the shared experiences of humanity.
